Announcing…

The newest member of the front desk staff at the YMCA is…ME! I had my first night of training tonight, and it was pretty fun. It’s me and another lady working this as a second job, and 3 high school seniors. It’s a trip getting trained for a job again, since it’s been so long, but I think I will really like this position. The people are really fun there, and I feel like I can handle the tasks required of me. It’s a LOT of info right now, but I’ll get it eventually. Yeah for extra income!

Oh, and I should get pictures on here someday, because Trevor and I just bought our first real piece of furniture EVER! It’s a gorgeous 3 piece entertainment center. It’s really nice, and it makes me want a new couch, but I can wait. So…I guess that’s it for now. No mind benders for ya.

Just sometimes

Have you seen that commercial where the moms are all invisible? It is actually a poor commercial because it’s main goal is to get you to buy it’s product, but I have no idea what the product is. Anyhoo, like every mom in the world, that is how I feel sometimes. I wonder if Corban ever thinks, how did those pants get the pizza stain off of them? I don’t think 3 year olds have those thoughts yet.

I have thought it out and if I were to get paid for the work I do as a stay at home mom, it would be equal to 3 jobs: cook, maid and nanny. Each of those jobs might be about $6/hour, so in actuality it would be $18/hour. Think about it as a 24/7 job, too. What is 24 times 365 and then that number times 18, you ask? $157,680. That is a decent take home, or at least it would be.

Corban is at the time in his life where he’s really starting to comprehend speech and so he understands what I’m saying and can speak in complete sentences. It’s wonderful for conversing with him whether for fun, or for finding out who hit whom. On the other hand, it’s quite dangerous because my conversations with Trevor are now being recorded into his brain. He remembers everything we say!!! Seriously, it’s weird. I don’t remember things that well! I was telling Trevor about some nutso driver, and I said something like (see I don’t even remember) I just wanted to reach over and slap her! Corban comes over and says, “Who do you want to slap?” Yeah, watch what you say in front of my kid; he’ll rat you out.

Okay

I totally wrote another entry that didn’t show up for some reason. So far wordpress is not IMpressing me. ANYWAY! I come here today to impart great wisdom…in regards to food consumption. Don’t mix alcohol and ice cream. It just doesn’t go together. Thursday I ate half of a large blizzard, then had one Smirnoff. Then later on I ate the rest of the blizzard. This took about 2 hours to play out. The following day I was quite ill. If it’s actually from what I ate, then I suspect it’s the combo of the above mentioned. I have been nauciated, and achey, and other things. Anyway, there’s your great wisdom.

Trevor left last night for a free ski trip. I am bummed that he’s gone especially on a holiday weekend, because he would have been home on monday, but hey! He’s skiing for free! My birthday is Tuesday, as well as the premeire of Americal Idol 34. I’m actually going to watch it, too! One show that is really hilarious is Beauty and the Geek. It’s one for TVo, I promise you.

Oh, and I will more than likely start working part time for the YMCA in a week or so. I am looking forward to getting out of the house and being, dare I say it, more than a mommy. That is all for now, I think. I’ll try to get a little more philosophical for you next time.
